Counselor Bio- Allison Hare

Hey everyone! I'm Allison, and I'll be a sophomore this coming year at UW. My majors are Biology and Psychology. Right now I'm thinking of going pre-med, so if you have any questions about that, feel free to hit me up. I currently work in several labs on campus which I got involved with in a variety of ways, so you should also definitely ask me about that in case you're looking to get a head start on research! I love running, photography, playing cello, and traveling, especially when I get to go to Guatemala and pose next to Ronald McDonald like in the picture here. Lastly but most importantly my favorite animal is the sloth, so if you like them too we already have one thing in common. I can't wait to meet you all. :)

Counselor Bio- Alex Villarreal

Hey guys! My name is Alex Villarreal and I’m currently a sophomore here at UW-Madison majoring in microbiology and working towards a certificate in global health. I currently work in the Skop Genetics Laboratory here on campus so feel to ask any questions you may have about undergraduate research. I have many interests, but one of my newest is travel. During my freshman year I studied in Shanghai, China for a month and also spent a week in Honduras providing medical and dental care. Here’s a picture of me and a couple friends I made in Honduras!

Counselor Bio- Brian Brito

This MadBiology Boot Camp counselor hails from the land of golden coasts and happy cows - which are by all means connected. He is a major in Environmental Sciences and is interested in pursuing future work in graduate school with environmental applications of geographical modeling. In his free time he enjoys tennis, friendly games of spades, reading young-adult (and sometimes adult) fiction, DDR, and the classical Final Fantasy series. And in case you were wondering, consuming feline figures is a ritual only reserved for the direst of situations... Let that be a factor in deciding whether or not you should come into contact with him. Some have braved this most ridiculous tradition and are even living in close quarters with this man, but they will all tell you to keep your kittens close and your future counselor closer.

Counselor Bio- Aidan Holmes

Hi all! My name is Aidan Holmes – science enthusiast, “nail paintress,” and self-proclaimed wolf whisperer. I am a genetics major here at UW-Madison and I will be a junior this fall. I am a CeO student and I am also involved in undergraduate research in a biochemistry lab – ask me about either (or anything else for that matter)! In my free time I love reading, hanging out with friends, crafting, volunteering, watching HGTV marathons, and attempting to cook. I’m really excited to be a counselor this year and I can’t wait to get to know everyone!

Counselor Bio- Greg Sims

Hi! My name is Greg Sims. I am a senior majoring in Microbiology and just finished my applications to Physician Assistant Programs! My favorite things to do in my free time are eating, working out, and just being outside (in that order). I was a MadBio camper when I was a freshman and this is my second time being a counselor for such a great program! I love to answer your questions about classes, the school, jobs, and Bigfoot sightings. I am a very approachable guy so don’t be shy! This is going to be a great experience for your all!
